One Local’s Opinion
Delaware offers a wide variety of scenic venues and natural havens. Whether it’s the sand and surf, the truly unique bay or the ever-maturing local culture that draws you to the Delaware shore, the call to the beach shouldn’t be ignored. The serenity one gains from leaving behind the hustle & bustle to join our community cannot be underestimated. Think back to a period when stress levels were high for whatever reason and how it felt to truly step away and enjoy a break, a respite from the habitual burden we put ourselves through far too often.
Now imagine if that visit to a more calm and serene lifestyle were to become permanent..

GOOD FOR THE SOUL
There are also the “good for the soul” reasons to purchase at the Delaware shore: the restaurant scene is stupendous, the never-ending nature activities, the deep and rich history of one of the originally settled regions, the many miles of bike trails, the unique species of wildlife, the art community, tax free shopping, the salt air in your lungs and the sun on your face all make a deep and impactful difference in your quality of life. These changes in lifestyle can mean so much more than the stuff we collect along the way and we would love to help you collect years of happy memories. This is our purpose….our goal…. with every client we meet and connect with along the way.
Once a client takes the leap to the shore, we at the Ksebe Group look forward to opening new doors within the community for our clients. Our mission is more than just a sale – we look to be a continued resource for our clients long after the real estate transaction has been completed. A fostered relationship is our pleasure but we also hope to create continuous value for our clients.
Rehoboth Beach is the most action packed place at the Delaware Shore, Rehoboth’s claim t fame is its well kept and very popular boardwalk. The boardwalk hosts many beach games and arcades as well as Funland, home of all the rides such as bumper cars and the haunted house. Rehoboth is a great place to bring kids and feel completely safe about it.
Rehoboth has around 50 fabulous restaurants and almost every type of cuisine you could imagine. We also have the typical beach food, boardwalk fries and many great pizza and ice cream options are all over town as well. Shopping options are plentiful in Rehoboth with the Tanger Outlets and many many little beach shops.
The off-season at the Beach in Rehoboth includes a Halloween Festival (sea witch), Jazz Fest, Restaurant Week, Chocolate Crawl, The polar plunge, the Rehoboth Beach Marathon, Doggie Week, Art Festival, and many more events. The holidays are really a special time at the beach as well.
Rental Incomes and appreciation rates have been the greatest in Rehoboth out of all the Delaware Beaches. If you are looking for strictly an investment, Rehoboth may be your best bet.
Lewes was first settled by the Dutch in 1631 and this town has a very historic and old fashioned feel. Home of many small museums and quaint shops, Lewes is a very walkable town. Cape Henlopen State Park is a very nice area with miles of trails and wildlife, a newly updated fishing pier, a spectacular beach and the spot where the ocean meets the bay. There are many historical war bunkers in this state park as well and miles of tunnels from a different era.
Lewes has some of the best restaurants in the area, all within walking and biking distance from each other. The bike trail in Lewes is one of the best things about this town as this trail connects Lewes to Rehoboth and has recently started heading west towards Georgetown, DE. There will be 40 miles of safe biking trails when it’s completed with amazing bay and canal views.
Lewes may have the most year-round appeal for those considering moving to the beach and not just investing in a beach home. The growth in this area has been substantial for a reason and seeing is believing to truly understand the natural splendor that is Lewes, Delaware.
Welcome to Dewey Beach, Delaware. Home of some of the hottest Bars in the region and some very nice beaches as well. The Starboard is perhaps the most popular in town but the Rusty Rudder, North Beach, and Bottle & Cork have some very rocking nights as well. This town is as lively as there is between 10 pm-2 am and the days can be pretty rocking as well. Live bands are going strong every night of the summer in one venue or another and there is always some crazy event happening at the Starboard.
Dewey is the most dog-friendly place in the area and allows dogs on the beach with the purchase of a license (35$ for the lifetime of the pup) and without a license between 5:30 pm-9:30 am. After 5:30 pm and before 9:30 am, the dogs are allowed off-leash but during the day in the summer, leashes are required. Dewey has a weekly movie night on the beach and allows bonfires with a permit (easily obtained) making this one of the most fun places for Adults and their pups.
Fenwick Island is the sleepiest of all the Delaware Ocean Beaches, and yet it runs into Ocean City, Maryland which is quite action-packed during the summer. Fenwick is perfect for those looking for a quiet, laid back destination. Fenwick is also a dog-friendly town and the beaches are really never that crowded. There are a few great restaurants in town and some very nice shopping destinations as well. This would be a great place to visit if looking for a peaceful getaway or a quiet place to retire.
The town is not year-round active, which isn’t for everyone yet perfect for others. There are some really beautiful bayfront communities including one with a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course. The lifestyle in Fenwick allows time for things that the hustle of the city may not. Laying out on a lonely beach with a book, taking over a section of sand for a game of volleyball, these are activities that sound perfect for Fenwick Island while the action of Ocean City is right next door.
North of Lewes are a few small areas along the coast that would appeal to those looking for the splendor of nature as there are ecological refuges for bird migration and horseshoe crabs and all types of wildlife. Slaughter Beach, Primehook Beach, and Broadkill Beach would be worth a look for those interested in viewing nature in its rawest form.
These beaches are all bay and not ocean so the waves are very calm, these are great for fishing and dogs. These areas can be buggy near the end of summer but in late spring, these are beaches where you can really have some true peace.
Other towns in Southern Delaware that are less expensive and close to the beach would include Milton, Milford, Millsboro, and Georgetown. These are all within a half-hour of the ocean and may interest some looking to purchase properties 150k and up. Lewes to Fenwick, the price tag is a bit steeper.
